Originally from Muar, Malaysia, I can speak English, Mandarin, and Malay. In 2021, I moved to Canada to pursue a career in film and studied Film and Television. I started out in Malaysia working as a videographer and editor at a production company, and I now work freelance as a cinematographer and editor. I’m focused on telling honest, visually driven stories and continuing to grow in the film industry.
From Passion to Profession
I got into filmmaking when I was 14 through a high school video project. It was my first time directing, shooting, and editing something on my own. I worked on it with friends, experimented a lot, and threw in some pretty cheesy visual and sound effects that somehow worked.
When we screened it in class and people laughed and actually enjoyed it, something clicked. That reaction made me realize how powerful storytelling could be.
That project pushed me to take filmmaking seriously. It wasn’t just a school assignment, it was the moment I knew this was what I wanted to do.
